Six Sentence Sunday

This is my very first entry in Six Sentence Sunday. Am I nervous? Absolutely!  So no more stalling. Here you go!

My first six sentences are from my current work in progress titled The Hidden One. In this scene, Kane has arrived at the home of Lady Selene, The Grand Oracle of the Council of Twelve.

He entered the parlor slowly. As a rule, Kane always kept business meetings in neutral territory and for the last 400 years, caution had always served him well. However, when Selene Beaumont, The Grand Oracle to the Council of Twelve sends an invite to her south Charleston home, countering with another location was not a smart idea. It would be rude. He was intrigued to have received the request and that alone was enough for him to accept. Nevertheless, he would not walk into any situation blindly.

RWA 11 - Are You Going?

After months of hinting, weeks of whining and days of just blatant statements of intent, my husband finally agreed that I should attend The 2011 Romance Writers of America Conference in New York.  I booked my reservation, nailed down a roommate and now I'm just beside myself with anticipation.

Are you going? Are you excited? Are you a first-timer like me? Let me hear from you!

My Words. My Fantasy.

Welcome to My Lair

Last year I reignited my desire to get back into writing. With the help of Twitter Buddy and aspiring writer Lynette I found a wonder writing group located here in the Queen City. After attending a couple of meetings, I joined Romance Writers of America, joined Carolina Romance Writers and amazingly formed a critique group with four other aspiring writers.

That's a hell of a lot for 2010!

So.... after months of writing, reading, re-writing, reading I decided to kick off my own blog of my wonderful adventures. And let's face it -- if you're putting in the work to write a novel -- it's truly and adventure! So, pull up a seat and kick back while I share my ups and downs, joys and heartaches, and even the Ah-Ha! moments while I'm on the road to publication.... one word at a time.
